“It’s too late,” he said. “What do you mean?” Kale asked, clutching her shawl tightly around her shoulders. “It’s too late,” he repeated simply. “They’ve come.” That was when Kale’s world collapsed. Caught up in treason and murder, she doesn’t know whether to trust the person who dragged her into this in the first place, or the people hunting them both. And there is someone stirring in the shadows, someone who has watched at a distance for years. The forces are moving, but into whose favour? It seems like everyone demands Kale’s capture. Why? There is only one who knows.Rating Out Of Books The Last Pages

Well. Where to begin? The characters were lovely. The descriptions were lovely. I couldn't help but be hooked by the first couple pages. The whole world created in The Last Pages is definitely captivating and magical. The author doesn't waste time, however, and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire two nights it took me to finish this. It was a little short compared to what I'm used to... either that or I just read through it so fast. XD Here's how I feel about the book:At the beginning:I received this book from Goodreads First Reads. Lara Whatley is a debut author, and for a debut author, I found this book pretty fantastic. I think the target audience is best for a really advance 3rd grader to definitely a 6th grader, but maybe a 7th grader. The only reason I say this is that one of the very few flaws I felt there was in this book is that the conversations were unrealistic. Not in the sense that one wouldnt have that conversation, but in the sense that the words used were
I'm a child at heart, with an overactive imagination. I'll never grow up, not really. I absolutely love all things magical. Disney will always hold a special place in my heart. I write stories for those like me, kids and adults who just want to get lost in another world. I write for the people who want to find characters they can love, relate to, root for, and cry with. When I'm not writing, I

DNF.It was a struggle to read this book. I wanted to like it, because the world was interesting, but then the writing was bad and the characters are unpolished. This book needs extensive editing. I know, that was harsh, but I'm being honest here. The story is fast-paced, but it lacks certain details that will make the story easier to understand. The MC, Kale, lacks emotions and is just too weird. If I became a slave suddenly, without explanations and justification, I would throw a fit. Kale
After a few words, I found the writing disappeared leaving a vivid story with damp castle walls, conflicted heroines and mysterious heroes. The Last Pages pulls you on a quick ride through a satisfying adventure with a complex ending. Written as a 14 year old, this book promises to be one of many to follow. The author provides only enough details to keep our imagination creating vivid scenes. Action, dialogue and relationship let readers enjoy a warm tale with just enough villainy to create
This is an exciting story of a young girl unwilling on the run with a young man who says he is running from the king.the It is hard to put down as you read of the obstacles they run into as well as a man in a black cloak in pursuit of them.Throughout the story it is implied that it is the girl that is wanted but does not say why. I cannot wait until the next installment of the story comes out.
